How to take gel nail polish off :- Removing gel nail polish properly is important to avoid damaging your natural nails. Here’s how you can do it safely:
What You’ll Need:
- Acetone (100% pure works best)
- Cotton balls or pads
- Aluminum foil (cut into small squares)
- Nail file or buffer
- Cuticle pusher or orangewood stick
- Cuticle oil or moisturizer
Steps:
- File the Top Layer
- Use a nail file to gently buff the shiny top coat off. This helps the acetone penetrate better.
- Soak Cotton in Acetone
- Soak a cotton ball or pad in acetone and place it on top of each nail.
- Wrap with Foil
- Wrap each fingertip with aluminum foil to keep the cotton in place. This traps heat and speeds up the process.
- Wait 10-15 Minutes
- Let your nails soak until the gel starts to lift and bubble.
- Gently Push Off the Gel
- Use a cuticle pusher or orangewood stick to gently scrape off the loosened polish. If it’s stubborn, rewrap and soak for a few more minutes.
- Buff and Hydrate
- Lightly buff your nails to smooth out any rough spots.
- Apply cuticle oil and hand lotion to rehydrate your nails.
Alternative Method (If You Don’t Have Foil)
- Instead of foil, you can soak your nails in a small bowl of acetone. Cover your hand with a warm towel to speed up the process.
What to Avoid:
🚫 Peeling or scraping too hard (can damage your natural nails)
🚫 Using non-acetone remover (won’t effectively break down gel polish)
